Is the length of brake boss standardized ?
(
I am replacing the my v-brake from tektro to avid sd7. I note that the tektro match the length of brake boss of the rock shox jett fork perfectly while the thickness of avid brake is larger than the length of the brake boss. Is it normal?
)
Thx for advice.

the depth of the brake arms varies between models and manufacturers, I believe canti bosses are a standard length (externally anyway, there are many different lengths and types of thread on the other end of the boss, but that's not relevant). Your brakes aren't supposed to reach the end of the boss, the inner cylinder of the brake pivot gets clamped down by your brake bolt, so the canti boss can't protrude past here.

just try it, I believe that people should try things out before they go running off to a forum to get their question answered.
