I want to go XC skiing.

Thanks in advance.

Have you skied there before? Always seems so windblown around the lake. My guess would be not there, not yet. I could be completely wrong as I havn't been up there in a long time.

Heard some of Eldo's nordic skiing is open. I'd try up 4th of July/Hessie before Brainard.

Thanks. I'm new to the sport and have primarily skied at Nordic centers. I did some stuff at Henderson Mine the other day and it was good (although I had a hard time descending). I'm hoping that the Brainard Lake area is a good area for me. Not sure where those other areas are but I'll look them up. Hopefully my glide vs ride experiment works out.

Hey Carl, good to see you back. Did you ever post about your CT adventures?

4th of July Road: West of Nederland, through the village of Eldora. It splits about a mile and a half west of Eldora at the Hessie townsite - both have steeper sections, sorta typical mountain valleys to climb through.

Hey Don...good to hear from you.....I'm still around...even riding today...which I really, really need because I've gained like 20lbs since CT trip.

Nah, never posted about it...It was sort of anti-climatic and our digital camera broke the 2nd day in so all I have is a few disposable camera pics. Hard endevour....I had some serious heat issues (remember the Denver 100 degree heat wave?)...on a positive note equipment was great and I learned a bunch. My next loaded trip will be even better. I'll share more when I see you on the trail - cause you know I will.
