My 429 has a bit of "play" in the bottom bracket. Grab a crank arm with one hand and the frame in the other and there is a bit of movement. On an old cup and bearing square taper, or even a cartridge bb, I can adjust the cub in and remove the play.

Is there a way adjust this press fit BB or is it time to replace bearings or something? I'm ignorant with this new XTR press fit stuff, I have no XTR BB or Pivot specific tools (if they're required??) but have built up all my other bikes for the past 10 years. Thanks for the help!

I believe there is a 3 year warranty on the 429 XTR bearings, so go back to the shop with it.

I cant really diagnose the exact problem without seeing it, take the bike back to the shop and let them decide. BTW there is no adjustment in the bearings, its easy to see if they are fully pressed into the frame, if there is play then the bearing/s are gone.

I have the same problem. You should turn the adjusting nut clockwise till it sits firm.

My problem is that the ring unlocks itself after a few pedal strokes and that the crankbolt is coming a little lose after each ride. I tried to solve the problem with locktite last weekend. Will let you know if it worked out.

Cheers.
