Today I took my Klein Rascal to my LBS to mount some new parts (Marz fork, King HS, Cook Bros crankset). Everything went on fine except the crankset. Even tho the BB spindle was offset by 3mm, there wasn't quite enough room for the Cooks.

What is the ideal size spindle needed to run Cooks on my Klein?

which model of cbr cranks do you want to install?
I'm not sure what the model is called. It's the "basic" Cooks crank tho... turned alloy arms etc.. the usual/classic one. Does that help?

for the old Cook cranks you'll need a 125-130mm spindle. the newer they are the shorter the spindle needs to be. difficult to say without a photo. but you could mount the cranks and then measure the additional space they need to clear the chain stays and to achieve a proper chain line. add that to the current spindle length.

on page 23 of this Klein tech manual is a list of spindle length and on the following pages instructions on how to swap the spindle.
