I'm looking for a new rear tire on my girlfriend's Guerrilla Gravity Shred Dogg with i35mm rims. We started with a Maxxis Aggressor 27.5x2.5wt. The Aggressor is overweight and slow. Moved to a Bonti XR2 for a XC race. The XR2 is a great tire, but doesn't do well when pushed.

I'm not interested in the Maxxis offerings.

I'm looking at new Bontrager XR3 and the Teravail Cumberland in 27.5x2.8. The tires as similar with low profile center nobs and larger cornering lugs.

Does anyone have experience with either or both tires on the rear?

No experience with the Teravail but I have had the XR3 since the day they came out and I am super impressed with this tire. The cornering traction is excellent and it is still a fast tire. Highly recommended from me.

On 40 mm i use 3.0, front and rear, other brand but thread similar to bontragers. They do the job for me. I had Conti s on 29 with similar look and no complaint. They have a predictable aspect, and allaround qualities. The other does not inspire me confidence but who knows?
