I have been using the crossmark 2.1 and noticed the bontrager XDX TLR 1.75. I was thinking this might be a better race tire (only 1.75 less resistance), any comments?

good tire, right now bonty has the best race tires in my opinion with their latest crop of smaller tires. the geax barro race is the only tire to compete with bonty, wish some others would come out with 1.9's. how about a rocket ron based off the furious fred.

Contrary to popular opinion (mostly), I think the 29 X 1.75 makes a fine rear race tire on most terrain. I use mine thoughtout the year on both a geared hardtail and a singlespeed. I chose it because of the weight. No doubt it is low volume, but I like the way it rolls, I like its weight, and I trust it in rocky terrain as I find the sidewalls pretty strong. I does wear pretty quickly though. Airs up with Stan's and a pump period. No soap beads, compressor, etc and that is from new and on a Stan's ZTR 355 rim and a Bontrager TLR rim as well.

Great race tire for the hundies with a lot of fire roads. I use them on my SF100, so the lower volume doesn't bother me too much. Casings are thick enough to be reliable on most terrain. It has enough tread to handle some wet conditions too.

can tell me someone if there is a big difference in volume between the 1,75" XDX and the 1,9" 29-0 ?
think that could be a great front <-> rear combi for racing.

i ride the 1,9" XDX at my race 26er and love this incredible fast tire. it is OK for almost all conditions, except deep mud (but at these day's i stay in bed and don't race ;-).
