Don't know what happened??? My story of a first bonk did not work!
Phenomenon.jimbowho said:I finally bonked!! For years and years I have heard of this fanominon<? Today I rode Devil's punchbowl, I have been on the bike now for four official rides, "I'm back at it " Well after 3 plus miles I dropped into a heavenly downhill of boo-koo downhill switchbacks, all down and was freakin forgetting life as we know it. At 5 in I was on my way back and forgot that we must go back uppppp! Gel packs did nothing, I was spent and was on survival mode trying not to cramp up while walking it 90 % of the climb. OMG that was biitcheen. I should be on the beer forum. Sorry for the rant but I'm on a 02 HT specialized stump pro. Cramps tonight for sure can't wait!!!
Thanks for the spell check.pop_martian said:Phenomenon.
I'm 50. To be realistic! Up & back, 11 miles. You bet I'm out of shape, that took me three hours, but not in any hurry though. I read somewhere on here some guy brings a book on his adventures. I snooped around and found a winter series in Fontana! Think I should put 50 hours in the saddle first. 24 HR ! LMAOmcmurv said:mmm, 3 to 4 miles and a bonk. That is maybe an hour into a ride, with the climb. If you haven't ridden since 2002, this may just be an indication of your fitness level or altitude. Take it easy and build up slowly, especially if your over 40 and haven't ridden in 8 years. Before you know it, you will be jonsing for your first 24 hour race.
