i was wondering if the racelink would work for an all around bike, not just for racing. i know it's the "race"link, but BMW ain't making a all around DH/FR bike.

Well, almost everyone i know that has a BMW has atleast two bikes, so i don't think there will be many people who can tell you. For what it's worth though, i've seen racelinks built up into the low forty pound range and they are known for very efficient pedaling. Your biggest problem will still be the very slack geometry that they have.

They have the FTQ that is 6-7" I think but it is the same price as the DH model.
