Blue wheelbarrow along JPL trail in Pasadena/Altadena

For those who ride the Gabrielino trail in Altadena. About 3 miles from the trailhead, at a point where there is a cement embankment, there used to be a blue wheeless wheelbarrow chained to a tree. I figured it was used for trail building or repairs. It was there for the longest time until about a month ago when it wasn't there. It turns out that someone had broken the chain and tossed the barrow down the embankment. Why?

Anyone know what I'm talking about? What's the story behind this barrow?

You're questioning the intelligence and mentality of vandals?

You may find someone who can tell you why it was there, but vandals never have a good reason for destroying things that occur in nature or other's property.
Probably kids being kids?

Took this picture yesterday when I rode the jpl trail. Might be hard to see, but there are a couple of large beer cans and trash. I hate litter bugs, especially those who just throw trash in nature.

Well, he was probably joking. I'm not.

That wheel barrow has been down there in the creek for about month or so, maybe longer. I've rolled by there at least a few times since it was moved.

Mission Blue Wheelbarrow is now complete. It is safely re-chained to the tree.
