Anyone up for a long slow ride at Coe on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving? Meet me at Hunting Hollow at 9 AM.

Depending on where I am (home vs. my parent's house in the East Bay) I could be tempted. It's been far too long since I've ridden Coe.

Menso and I may go for a Coe ride on Friday out of HH, but we won't go slow. Have to burn up all the turkey and mashed potatoes.

Bump again... Hey bailout, if you're reading this, can you post the route of your mini-epic from the Chumba forum?

I usually go Gilroy Hot Springs Rd. -> Coit Rd. -> Anza -> Jackson -> Elderberry Spring -> Jackson Rd. -> Wasno Rd. -> Kelly Lake Trail etc. I'm open to suggestions though.

I'm hoping bailout will enlighten me about his recent 12 mile all-singletrack ride in that same area.

Got a PM from bailout. Let's just say that everything I listed up to Elderberry is still valid. He had some interesting suggestions about where to go from there. I'll make up my mind when we get there.

Yesterday's ride was nowhere near epic but it had a high singletrack-to-fireroad ratio by Coe Standars. Anza-Jackson - Elderberry - Domino pond - Wasno - Dexter - Grizzly Gulch - out Gilroy Hot prings Rd.

We were gonna ride Spike Jones and Timm but we only allowed ourselves 3 hours max to ride.

Yeah, short on time and reluctant to get wet, Grizzly was a no-brainer. Plus, it dumps you at the gate in a hurry:thumbsup: Otherwise, if you have the time, Kelly Cabin Canyon is da bomb. You do have to climb out of the canyon though.

Yep, Menso and I had a fun 4 hour ride there on Friday. The weather was great. We even had quite a bit of sunshine!

Route from HH: up Lyman Wilson into the clouds and light drizzle, left on Bowl, up Middle Steer Ridge, down Steer Ridge, Spike Jones and Timms trail .... what a blast! .... we continued with Anza, Jackson, Elderberry, Jackson road, Wasno road to the start of Domino Pond: down via Domino Pond, Cattle Duster and Grapevine... another blast ... back via Anza and Coit Road to HH.

My route was: HH -> Gilroy Hot Springs Rd. -> Coit Rd. -> Anza -> Jackson -> Elderberry Spring -> Jackson -> Wasno -> Tule Pond -> Grizzly Gulch -> Coit -> Gilroy Hot Springs -> HH. About 3:20 on the trail.

Great loop Chuck!

That is one of the great loops in the Coe front country. Excellent in fact! Awesome to see you taking on the Anza-Jackson climb. Happy Holidays!

Yeah, Anza-Jackson's a workout! I think I burned up my rear brake pads on the Grizzly Gulch downhill. Oh well, I got a year out of them.

Nice! Glad you had fun, Chuck.
I gotta try JL's route so I can finally hit Timm and Spike Jones. Can't wait to get out there again.
