I could have asked this on "Brake Time" but you guys are familiar with using the Saints for DH which is exactly where I use the brakes.

Can anyone give me a simple explanation of the 'bite' screw and how I use it? I understand the Reach adjustment and, like a lot of DH riders, use it to keep my levers close to the bar. But when I turn the bite screw the lever begins to feel sluggish. Is it a matter of using the reach knob and bite screw together to get just the right feel for the lever overall?

Thanks

I assume you're referring to the pad contact/free stroke adjuster? It basically determines how much you have to move the lever to get the brakes to actuate. Some people like a lot of movement, others don't want much at all. I end up using both adjustments to get the feel I want.
