I have been trying to buy this bike. Two emails and two phone messages over the last few months to Bionicon USA and no answer. Where can I find one? I am about to give up and get a remedy, especially if that is how Bionicon is going to treat coustomers.

Hey Mr. Fuel,

I feel your pain!:madman: I've always thought the technology behind this brand was brilliant and this model, at last, has a frame design I favor. However, getting information about the company/product has been difficult. I asked Gregg of Mtbr.com to post info from the last Interbike on the company/products and didn't see a word published. I'm not sure if that's because Bionicon wasn't at Interbike or perhaps they don't have enough market presence/share to justify the attention of the industry press. Photo-John posted this thread as a teaser about the bike:

However, even though several of us encouraged him to share some details, he wasn't forthcoming. I understand that he's probably being paid to complete other work but why post in the first place if he wasn't willing to say something more than "I just wanted to let you guys know that I rode it and I have some stuff to say about it. For now, here's a picture of me actually riding."

I found your report to be disappointing because I thought I could do a weekend trip to Kernville and demo the bike on their new bike park and wonderful local trails. It sounds like that may not be possible. Good luck in your efforts and please let us know if you find any positive news.

Thanks,

Michael:thumbsup:

Odd that the day after I post this they got back to me. Its been months. $2699 for the frame kit, includeds everything but brakes, wheels and drivetrain. $3899 for the one flavor mid-range setup. I dont spreken so its tough to know what I am getting from the website. I do know ze germans make good tanks, airplanes and guns, must make good bikes too. I ve done all the research and Im mostly sold. I am concerned that there seems to be a lack of information and support out there.

With Cannondale's new "over mountain" and Scott's Genius I'm not sure if it worth taking a chance with Bionicon. Their stuff seemed innovative one or two years ago but bikes are getting more and more adjustable these days. Since there is more options on the table I would suggest you go for a bike company you trust.

News from Bionicon

Hello all,

We had a tough time with Bionicon USA because our warehouse burnt down some time ago and it took us a lot of work to build it up again and get back to normal.
Also Paul, our US distributor, is a bit short of menpower at the moment but we do our best and try to support as good as possible.
If you need something urgent and you dind´t get a reply form Paul you always can contact our headquarter in Germany directly and we will figure out a solution.
We are a growing, but still small company and trying our best to support every single rider!

Our products are stronger and better than ever, so check them out!

Best wishes form Tegernsee,

Felix!

Felix,
Thanks for the response. I had read about the wharehouse fire and I understand. From a consumer point of view, it was frustrating to try and research the bikes. The bionicon usa website had little information on specific bikes and later just directed me to the regular germanglish site. Also all of the specs are in german, google translate helped but very cumbersome. I think these bikes are awesome and I hope to be building up my new alva this summer. Best of luck to bionicon usa.
