I'm in need of a rack and am on a budget for my Jeep Wrangler, yea, receiver hitch one's are best. I had a two arm Saris but the kona won't fit, the shock is in the way and the two top arms are too far apart. I'm thinking of picking the first one up. Is the single plate mechanism secure enough for a dh bike (Stinky Dee-lux) as the top tube is pretty big in diamater. I'm worried that the v-channel isn't deep enough. Hopefully someone out there can help me out. Thanks in advance.

As far as the straps on the second one. I don't have that rack but the racks that I have/have had always hold dh bikes just fine with those. Just lash them down tight and maybe get some bungee cords to keep the bike more stable.
