If someone's looking for a puzzle, help explain this to me? I'm comparing two bikes that have nearly identical wheelbases, but I can't see how that's possible. What am I missing?

Turner Czar size L, Specialized Fatboy size L

Chainstay: 442 vs 455: Fatboy is 13mm longer
Reach: 421 vs 437: Fatboy is 16mm longer

So from the rear axel to the headtube (chainstay + reach) the Fatboy is 29mm longer.

However the Fatboy wheelbase is only 5mm longer (1124 vs 1128). That means the remaining 24mm must be explained away by difference in head angle. But this is impossible because it's only 0.7 degree (Turner 69.8, Fatboy 70.5). My math suggests 0.7 degress only brings the front wheel back around 6-7 mm.

I wish bike geometries listed Front-Center explicitly.

What about seat tube angle, that will affect reach.
No, reach is a horozontal line from center of BB to head tube. Thus chainstay + reach is the distance from the rear axel to the head tube (or a vertical line that goes through the center of the head tube)
