in order to increase the rear travel of my bighit comp 03 i'm thinking to changethe rear shock (vanilla R) with the Vanilla rc which should have more travel of the stock one (57mm vs 51mm ).any problem ?
do someone already did it?????

If you look in Specialized's web site (www.specialized.com) under the Mountain Components section, there is a product named 03 Big Hit 8. It replaces the shock and shock link to give the bike 8 inches.

I don't know if on that model changing just the shock will increase the travel. I know there have been some threads on this topic in the Downhill-Freeride forum. Do a search there, that should help.
