A plan to build a carbon hardtail for gravel purposes... a plan is 1x12, boost spacing 148mm in the rear, with ideally a really big chainring of 40-42t (or 38t at least)

Anyone has experience which carbon hardtail boost frames accept bigger chainring sizes? clearance with the chainstay is the normally the issue....
I know of couple that can take 36t, however larger than 36t ?? Tx

Salsa Bikes maybe.
Their gravel frame can take a 40t chainring.

Yep, thanks, that is one brand that has the frames that would work... their Cutthroat frameset is nice and would probably serve the purpose.. If only I could get hold of a used one .... not dropping $2500 on new frameset. The idea is, to do low cost built and put on it MTB components and wheelset that are around the garage... I know tough order these days to find quality used frames for decent money. I might re-purpose Specialized Chisel frameset but it is Alu and only takes 36t as it seems... perhaps 38t with some spacers mod or special offset ring... not sure...

Any personal experience ? would you recommend any sellers / products ?
Sorry I can't. I don't have any experience with china frames.
More well known china brands are Trifox, BXT, Ican, or Dengfu.
You could ask in the "other manufacturer" subforum for help.
