What are some of the wider, bigger tires I can use for the Cross Check.. I want to use it for dirt roads, smooth trails and have a little cushion. thanks

I tried running a pair of Ritchey ZED 42c's on my 50cm frame and they just didn't work; too much time spent hitting my toes on the tires on the trail. Two excelllent off-road performers are the Vittoria EVO Cross in 34c or the Panaracer Fire Cross in 35c. Both of these are aggressive treads that roll well. I can just squeak my toes past them on turny singletrack and they ride much grippier than the width would make you think.

Sorry guys and gals, the Fire Cross is a 45c full knobby, the Cinder Cross is the 35c aggressive cross tire, sheeesh!

Maxxis Wormdrive 700x42

I have been running maxxis wormdrives. It looks they may have been discontinued but you can find 'em online. They roll pretty fast on the pavement and have great traction on the singletrack. Run 'em about 75 psi and go anywhere you want:thumbsup:

I am looking at a wider tire on my Double Cross. How do the IRC Mythos CX work? Are they good all around or are they better for hardpack?

A bit late, but I'll post my vote for Bontrager XR 29 X 1.8"s. They fit fine, and they corner like not big cross tire I've tried. They're a bit pricey, but I really find them to be a good fit.

don't forget...

WTB 700x44 Mutano Raptors. Best all-round tire I've tried for my XC, but I haven't tried the Bonti's yet.
Any of the above mentioned rubber will work fine.
