I will be staying in Dillon and planning for 2 days of riding weekend before thanksgiving (2021). Visiting family want to day trip from there to Leadville. Should i bring fat/snow bike, hardtail for some slop but mostly dirt, or full suspension for dry conditions? General trail conditions (or recommendation for a good local info source, not facebook)? Thanks!

So no idea of what conditions will be like. Our snow in the front range is late, and that high up you’re more likely to see snow, but not sure if its enough for winter fat biking.

There’s always a chance of getting slammed with snow, but just as much for nice weather.

I'd bring the fat bike. I just saw a photo of a 4-Runner stuck in the snow in Mayflower Gulch between Copper and Leadville.
The ski areas got a few inches of fresh snow this week and are expecting more next week.
According to the Summit Trail Conditions FB page regular mountain biking is done for the year.
Thanks
