between the 2, which is the better deal or are they both good which is my guess

$800 for the following new bikes:

* Surly Karate Monkey (note: basically same/comparable parts as on a new Rig). comes with KM rigid fork in this case.
* New Rig.

if you can get a brand new rig for $800, definitely the rig. But the monkey is more versatile, so for long term it could have more value.

I looked at the rig before I bought my On One 29'er complete bike. Not sure when I will get the On One, but it is an option in the same price range. I did have to order from Brant/One One in the UK.

absolutely nothing wrong with the Niner. In fact, I absolutely love it and other than the KM fork, i would not change a thing.

this new obsession has to do with getting yet another bike.....this bike would be kept at my office 24/7 to encourage me to ride more during the week. i have sweet single track right outside my office door that i can do from office door and back in 1 hour. this bike would be used just for that purpose. perhaps with it almost being year end, i feel the need to add yet a 4th single speed purchase as if it was in my goals at work or something.

of course i could use one of the bikes i already own for this purpose but that would contradict my horrible pattern of constantly doing the illogical thing.
