Hey all:

So, some of my buddies from Northern GA are thinking about heading to Pisgah (Davidson River) in late March for a camping/biking weekend. What is the best book/map/resource for planning riding routes? Last time I was in the NF with my cousin, I thought it would be way easier to navigate (I am used to well-marked loops and such). We were shocked by the amount of road/trail linking that riding there necessitates....and had to ask the locals for help. Loved everything else about riding there, but just don't want to waste time getting lost this time around.

So, what map/book should we get? Just the National Forest "Trails Illustrated"? Something else?

Any other tips or advice would be most appreciated!

Maps won't keep you from getting lost, but they can help you figure out where you are once you realize you are lost. Besides, getting lost in Pisgah is part of the experience. :thumbsup:
