If nothing else, we Nuevo Mexicano's are known for good chili and great taco's/burrito's and Mexican food in general....never mind great ST.

Lets hear about your favorite NM eatery and why.

My latest find for Taco's is El Parasol in Pojoaque, NM. You can get a six'er for about $5, I think. Located on the corner of the frontage rode to Cities of Gold casino.

A great place to stop after a hard day at the Paj' Mahal.

They also have a place in Los Alamos and Santa Fe

As I stated before, Toribios in El Prado, Taos, hands down. I eat waaay too many burritos. 3 bucks and you are out the door with what is, for most, two meals.

For pure bulk and good green Eske's is hard to beat. Also helps that is is within riding distance to many good trails.

If people would get some coordinates next time they are at their favorite taco stand, I would love to put together a database of the best finds in NM. You know that feeling after a ride when you could really go for a burrito, but are out of town?

yeah, you cross the over pass on Ceasar Chavez, make the first left ( I think fourth st) and then you end up going back east for a quick second. Then right on 3rd.

My favorite - the stuffed sopapilla and the tostada!

There's also a good spot in Questa for breakfast I go to when I head up that way for fly fishing. Not sure of what the name is though, but it's good!

'Find'? That's the place I've been telling you had the best tacos I had ever eaten. I've not tried the one in Pojo...only the one in LA. I think the cooking is the same at all of 'em for the most part, outside of the original in Espanola which has a more diverse menu. I think there are stores in Espanola, Los Alamos, Pojoaque and Santa Fe.

They make a pretty huge breakfast burrito as well. One of those suckers and I'm good till dinner.

Burrito Wagon-Santa Fe

On Cordova, next to Big O Tires.

There Be a Wagon with Killer Burritos, KILLER I tell Ye.

However, if that doesn't do it for you, Head down to Rufina Circle and grab a chili reyeno burrito from Alicia's Tortillaria.

Here's another...

If you find yourself in the vicinity of 2nd and Menaul, just north of the Wendys on the E. side 2nd st you will see a chuckwagon in the $ store PL. Seasonal mind you, she serves some fine authentic corn taco's. Cooks 'em up right there! Be prepared to wait 'cause if there is a line it could take up the 15mins, but the homemade, chunkier than Chucky's diaper, chips&Salsa served ala-carte will wet your whistle during the wait. Makes my mouth water just thinkin' about it:)

not sure if anyone goes to Elephant Butte, but Casa Taco has THE BEST taco I have ever had! Green chile brisket on corn tortilla, grilled slightly. It's on the main street in Elephant Butte, if you are there, go by and get some - you won't be sorry!

El pipirin. White green and red taco truck. You can find it in most large construction developements (ie Rancho Viejo) at lunchtime. Dope burrits.

Is this about Mexican food or New Mexican?

For Mexican tacos (El Paso/Juarez style) you can't beat El Taco Tote.

For New Mexican, my prefered after-ride feast is to feed at Los Cuates when I roll back into town.

I live in RR in work in SF near Rancho Viejo. I see the El Pipirin truck all of the time when I go run at the spur trail. Never tried it. There is a brand new location of El Parasol right by my office right where 14 (Cerillos) passes under I-25. It is right off of I-25 at the 14 S. Madird exit. You cannot beat the Red at Guadalupe. Very intense, smoky and full of garlic. Natures laxative
