take an old tire from a road bike and use tape to secure it to the frame. it works for me.
Best Downtube Protection?
What is the best way to protect my downtube/lower headtube from damage when hanging over the side of the gondola at Diablo Freeride Park? An old tire zip-tied on? Anything better?

I used the heavier gauge 3M tape all over my frame and fork. The kind you can get at MX shops works wonders, and it looks sharp to boot.
Has anyone tried the "clearbra" spray on stuff they use on cars?
buy a few of theese and slip if over your bike before each time you load it.
