I'm stick of getting gouged my my front chainwheel. Where's the best place for a deal on a bashring? I've been watching eBay and used ones are selling for close to what Pricepoint sells them for. So far the two best deals I've found are this generic one at Nashbar for $15:

and a RaceFace at Pricepoint for $27:

The bike-whore in me like likes the RF bling but the cheap bastard in me thinks the Nashbar cheapie will work just fine. Anyone else have a suggestion? I'm open to used ones. Something in me is drawn to an aluminum one but will consider one made of plastic if the price is attractive. Black is desired by not a necessity.

I'd like 34 tooth coverage and my crankset is a Shimano 104 BCD set running an 8spd cassette. I've been strongly considering a 1x8 drivetrain and will likely ride that way in the near future if I get a front disk (doubt that matters but thought I'd point it out anyway).

(Am I anal or what?)

i tryed thats all that mattered :D
I thank you for the effort. I'd never heard of that website before so I now have a new place to go for cycling garb. :)

I ended up getting a Race Face from PricePoint for no other reason than I needed a shock pump so I just tacked the RF onto the order.

For those wondering if they'd be better off switching out their big ring for a bashring I'd say try it out first. It's much easier to ride over much taller log crossings with a bash ring than it is a big ring. Hightly recommended!
