i need some help shipping a bike. dropped by my local ups store and was quoted a price of $116 to ship halfway across the country. i've seen auctions on ebay list the shipping at $40. how is this possible, please help.
#1: FedEx. Never had a problem, and they are much cheaper than USPS when it comes to what is considered oversized.
#2: USPS. Have had good luck, sometimes amazing shipping, but their oversized limits are not that big, and they stab you hard. Also have taken long to send priority; 14 days one time.
#3: UPS. Horrible. Damaged more bikes than I can remember (friends', too). Will not take bikes out of my local port but will deliver them no problem. That inconsistency irks me. But I was told my a ups inspector on a recent damage claim visit, that if you pay online and print out a label and slap it on the box, a UPS driver can/will/must pick it up on his route = bypass the ups center if they're a-holes like mine.
But why mess with #3 when FedEx blows them all away.
