Hello,

I am installing a new set of BB7 mechanical disc brakes. It is the first time I have used them but want to get the best performance. Which cables on the market will get the best performance (braking power) from the BB7s? Any advice or comments are appreciated.

A coated cable works well. The main thin I've found is to keep the housing bend radii as big as possible while keeping it short too. Don't force the cable to rub against the inside of the housing if you don't have too. Usually running on the inside of the fork leg accomplishes the best routing.

To get the best power out of your breaks, I would say the housing is more important. You need to get a "Compressionless Housing" kit like the Jagwire Ripcord.
Oddly enough, I'm having trouble getting their ferrules to fit onto the Ripcord brake cable housing properly... seem too small (ordered some 5mm sealed ferrules to solve the problem, hopefully)

(the Ripcord Derailleur housing & ferrules fit perfectly)
