I ordered a custom wheelset and the pictures they sent me look like there are some bent spokes and badly scratched nipples.

Also, does that machined sidewall look odd to anyone? Maybe it's just the angle and lighting, but it almost looks like only one side has a machined sidewall at a time and it looks like a separate piece from the actual rim.

I'd ask them to make sure the spoke isn't bent, I can't see how that would happen if they were tensioned correctly. Could just be a weird artifact from the digital camera

That weird shine on the brake surface is just tooling marks, nothing to be concerned about, just super small variations on the machined surface that looks a bit odd in some light.

They may have taken the pics when the wheel was laced but not tensioned, hence the wonk to the spokes.
