There is a trail recently closed to bikes in Bent Creek and I think it's technically part of Pine Tree. It's the trail from the beach to the road on the left side of the beach if you are facing the water. It's just a short stretch of trail, but it appears to have been closed without going through the normal channels.

Anyone have information about this? It's great access to the beach for my family, and mostly ridable by my daughter so it's closing is pretty annoying.

I've been more than a little bit busy with other things, but I'm intending on letting the BC coordinators for PAS know about this and they'll follow-up.
In the main forest, there'd have been a process before the trail designation was changed and/or they did all that grading/gravel work.
The expiremental forest often operates under it's own rules.

Gabe- are you sure? He's talking about the connector across the road from what I'd call the bottom of PineTree, creekside, down the stone steps, over to the two step bridge, then either right on Deerfield to the beach parking lot or straight ahead to the beach. It had a very permanent looking carsonite sign on it that had the universal "no bikes" symbol on it...

It was open today.............but I bet it will be closed on and off this summer. They have laid a huge concrete slab just below the old treatment sludge pit down stream from the dam.......I guess an "upgrade" is in the works.
Wastewater treatment. I was on that job doing quality control work. It was bizarre to be in Bent Creek working and testing concrete instead of biking. It was a good day though, testing in the woods is .
