Certainly not a destination, but for those nearby, its a great little spot to get out for a quick one. Thanks for the heads up on the event. Will try to come out to support.
Great for a quick one and to test the brakes on couple of hills.Certainly not a destination, but for those nearby, its a great little spot to get out for a quick one. Thanks for the heads up on the event. Will try to come out to support.
The town's parks commission initiated this partly because there is uncontrolled digging. Do you want the Parks Department to decide what to do on their own, or have mountain bikers involved? They've had bulldozers in there twice in the past to my knowledge. The last thing we need is SCMTS getting involved with the little neighborhood hill
Just leave it be...

All interactions have been pleasant at that park for me. Not sure if I ever recall branches blocking the trail. If I did, I just move them if they are too big to bunny hop, and go on my way.I didn't want to bring up these trails on a public forum because I didn't know their status, but it seems the park manager is well aware of them. Not surprising, the trails aren't exactly hidden.
About a month ago I rode the singletrack and came across 3 large branches that seemed deliberately placed across the trail. They weren't right at the start like someone was saying "do not enter". Rather they were about 100 ft into the trail right where it starts to get steep, like they wanted someone to crash.
Has anyone else encountered trail sabotage there?
Totally agree, I'm there all the time and I've never seen anything fishy, aside from a goofy sign warning about rattlesnakes mating. All interactions have been pleasant at that park for me. Dude, you have no idea what you're talking about. The 'uncontrolled digging' and subsequent demolishing has been a yearly cycle there for literally decades. Neighborhood kids will continue to build stuff with or without your involvement. Rangers will continue to take it down. The rangers will not (and frankly, cannot) effectively close the existing trails. They are popular with not only bikers, but hikers and even equestrians in the case of the one that ~redacted~.The town's parks commission initiated this partly because there is uncontrolled digging.
