BCT Trail conditions?

We were thinking about riding BCT on Sunday. I haven't rode the trail yet but want to very bad. With another storm moving in here today (Friday) does anyone have an idea what the trail conditions might be? I heard you have to ride through a creek.

Just to clarify, you have to cross the river, not a creek. IMO its probably going to be too high, there was quite a bit of rain, and looking at the water flow up there, it's flowing pretty good.

If the rain is done, the river may lower to more acceptable crossing levels (around 300 CFS). If it remains sunny today and Saturday, the conditions should be sweet.
Rode BCT last weekend. THe first stream/river crossing was high enough that you will get wet. We went across barefoot so as to not have wet shoes and socks - Agua Fria indeed. With all the rain this week I imagine the water will be even higher. We turned around at the water crossing on the Little Pan loop - it was a huge mud flat.

The trails themselves were perfect. They seem to shed water very quickly.

So, essentially you can do most of the trail despite the rain - just gotta get through that first water crossing
I hear there is an option to start this trail in New River and avoid the river. True???
we were there today

Funny this came up as we just got back from there. The trailhead is E. Henderson and it's right on New river rd. It has bathrooms, lots of parking, pinic tables; it's actually pretty nice. This was our first time checking it out because I've heard the trail is just so so out that way. But according to the map it avoids the river, so we thought it would be cool to check out.

Well, it's really pretty muddy in spots, there's a small stream of sorts near the TH. Nothing major, just lots of mud surrounding it. Well I got derailleur suck, is that such a phrase? The hanger broke off AND I got a broken spoke as a bonus! This was all in less than a mile from the TH. :madman:

We are def. going to check it out again. We'd like to see if we could ride it up to Little pan up and around and make a nice ride out of it.

Rode BCT Christmas morning and water level was low enough to just bike through. Trail is in prestine condition.
I and a few other rode it yesterday (Saturday Dec. 27th) starting from the Rock Springs trail head, the river can be crossed but your going to get wet up to the boys. the water was very cold and took half the ride for the boys to drop back in place. the trail was great all the way to the second river crossing which was too high and muddy to try and cross. Also this trail is Single Speed freindly so bring it if you have it. have a fun ride.
the xing was high today

We headed out today too, the river was flowing and high. probably didn't help I tried to cross in flip flops. I'll post some pics later :)

We started at the E. Henderson Trailhead and encountered minimal mud. Overall the trail was in great shape. We went north almost to the Table Mesa Trailhead. One in the group had mechanical problems so we did not get as far as we had hoped.

Fun trail though as long as you avoid all the various forms of cacti.
