Nope. The spindle on a BB30 crankset is too large (30mm) to fit through the hole in a BB92 BB shell and still have room for bearings. The spindle size on a crankset that is compatible with a BB92 is 24mm.Is there not a conversino bottom bracket that will let you run a BB30 crankset in a BB92 frame?
Sounds like your crank is a GXP, not a BB30. You can not put a 30mm spindle (BB30) in a 23/24mm hole (SRAM PF92 GXP BB)I have a 2010 SRAM XX 2X10 crankset. I originally installed it on a 2008 Specialized Sworks using the BB30 bottom bracket. I sold the Sworks and bought a 2012 Scott 29er frame which has a BB92 shell. I bought the BB92 SRAM press fit bearings for the frame and used my SRAM XX crankset, had it installed by my LBS, and everything fit without modification and it works great. What are you guys talking about?
eThirteen cranks use a 30mm spindle but are not BB30 spec cranks. Then why does e thirteen offer a pf92 bottom bracket for their bb30 cranks. I wonder if this would work
I believe you can use the Cdale cranks (at least the crank arms). The Cdale mtb spindle length is something like 132mm. The rub is that the spindle has a flange on one side. After upgrading my Cannondale Flash with a set of Hollowgram cranks, I am building a Pivot Mach 429 as my primary ride. I want to swap over the drivetrain to the new frame. Is there a way to use my BB30 crankset in the BB92 frame?
GXP is Gigapipe External, so you should have outboard bearings running on your 30mm spindle. This sounds suspect though, because GXP is usually a thread-in-to-BSA 24mm system. Some help. I have a SRAM GXP BB92 that I want to replace the bearings on. What size bearings should I get? I just need new bearings not a new BB.
