i have a bb mount chain guide sitting around.
Can I run this on my new frame that has iscg05 tabs?

Probably wont do it because I'd like to do it proper...but was just wondering if it would work ok.

Should be okay. The only issue you might run into is if the BB mounting area is offset to the rear side of the backplate and the ISCG tabs are flush with the BB shell's face - that would prevent you from mounting without a spacer between the guide and BB shell's face.

its actually just a blackspire Stinger single roller. there is no back plate, it just mounts to the bb and hangs down.

As long as the tabs don't overhang the shell, which they shouldn't.

Although they are the same price at Jensen to get the ISCG05 version ($40)...
