Paint can be re-sprayed, broken carbon fibers and dented tubes can't. But hey, to each your own.

They're made from the uterus lining of fully mature Amur leopards. They're quite durable...

Looks like a good idea to me. I've seen a couple of carbon bikes that have broken strictly from rocks getting kicked onto the downtube. The Ibis Mojo HD has something like this that comes on the bike. It's there for a reason.
