basic cable question on new install

I am building up my bike and have a question about cutting the cables for the f/r derailleurs.

The cable set that I have (XTR) includes these as shown and I was wondering if I should use them or standard barrel ends?

If I remember correctly, on my bike the housing end just pushes into this as you show in your pic, and it is supported by the piece welded to your frame.

Thanks for the input. The question was more around if it is better to use this style on all cable ends or standard end caps? I set it up like this as that is what it came with but have never seen it like this before on other bikes.

I think the newer style are better. I think they keep more dirt out of the cables, but just my opinion.
