Ive got a GF tassajara, and I know I need a bashgaurd. I am also considering getting a chainguide. I probably want to keep two rings if possible, but if nothing works I dont have a big problem dropping the granny, too. Ive heard good things about e.13's drs and mrp's lrp. Will either of these work on my bike? If not, what will?

Heres what is has now(everyting stock but the shock- and that doesnt affect this...):
BB- Shimano BB-LP28
Crank- Bontrager Sport 44/32/22 | 9 speed
Derailer- Shimano Deore
Chain: Shimano HG53

I have a feeling the cranks might not work, but i hope they do...

Thanks,
Mike

I'm running a raceface bashring and it replaced just the outer ring. I can understand the need for a bashring, but unless you're doing dowhill I don't see why you need the chainguide. I've been riding new england rocky/rooty singletrack for years and have never needed a chainguide. Why do you think you need one?

Oh and when you drop the outer ring don't forget to shorten the chain.

i dont really think i need a chainguide, but if i could get one for within 20-30 bucks (i saw a good deal on the mrp lrp today) of a bashring i figure why not? ive had chains come off every now and then, and I dont really care about the weight of the bike.
