OK, whats the deal? I'm using a straight flat bar. I was wondering if I should get the generally straight bar ends, or the ones that curve inwards. What's the reason to get one or the other? It might seem to be an esoteric question, but I just had rotator cuff surgery and was wondering if one or the other would be more natural or better for the shoulder joint. Thanks!

Curved ones offer additional hand positions and are much better at NOT catching branches and causing you to crash.

You might also consider looking at something like the Titec H or J bars or On One Mary bars. I've recently switched to these type of "Alt" bars and find my hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders take a much less beating than with traditional bars.
