I just recently bought a novara "float" from REI - it's my first full suspention bike. I'm having a weird balance issue, I've been able to ride with no hands since I was in grade school, so I don't think it's operator error, but for some reason on this bike, I can't stay balanced at all.

I think it also translates to the trail, it seems like it always wants to go it's own direction or something. I guess it's kind of hard to explain. I had a Trek hardtail before this and I didn't have any of these problems.

Any suggestions? Is it possible my wheels don't line up right or something?

Overall I haven't been too happy with the bike for this reason, plus it's pretty heavy. I wish I would have spent the extra money on something much lighter.

Even as adult, Angry Beavers were my favorite cartoon. Too bad it's no longer playing. In regards to the bike. How long have you had it. Before you decide to return it, consider if it's may be something you have to adjust to. On my first FS bike, I couldn't climb steep stuff, while I was able to dance on them on my hardtail. The suspension was something I had to get used to. The act of taking your hands off the bars will cause the suspension to react. In the meantime you're still responding as if it were a hardtail. Ultimately if you're not happy with the bike, you're not happy, but before you do remember there is always a learning curve when you get on your first full suspension bike.
