Just an update, after nearly 4 months off the bike following my foot injury, I'm back on the bike!

A little background: I busted up my foot pretty good while riding with gelolover, my buddy kevmo, and bikezillas crew, while riding the north shore in late august. It was one of those stupid falls where I just lost my focus for a second, while riding a log&ladder section I've cleaned many times before. Anyways, I spent 6 weeks in hard casts, 10 weeks total non-weight bearing, and since then I've mostly just been trying to walk a little farther every day.

The time off was actually cool, it was a great chance to spend time with my awesome family, read, study up on my espresso and new photography hobbies.

I've gotten 3 rides and a trailwork day in over the last two weeks or so. The foot feels a little better every week, I think it will need another month or two before I can ride aggressively on it... still it's awesome to be back out in the woods with my buddies, and things should be solid in time for spring.

Anyways heres some pics... first, a few of my foot. Yes these are scratch & sniff! :ihih:

Moving on then, a sort of photo-pictorial here, some shots I took while recovering. Thanks to the turner bros for all the photography help.

I actually shot this from my kitchen door while on crutches. We had wicked fall colors this year.

The fam riding a carousel. Yeah I like playing with long exposures.

So now that I'm back on the bike, I've been bringing the camera and shooting since I'm yet ready to session the stunts and jumps with my buddies. Getting better with the camera every week though! As you can see, kind of a weird time of year to get back on the bike here...lots of snow and not much daylight.

Sorry for the lack of Turner content :p

Kevmo-I was going for the long exposure thing here

Flash and sub-freezing temps don't work well together!

Again with the long exposure. I liked this one.. (Juice)

As I said on the ride, Flash... great to see you back on the bike !

I'll chip in with a FM bike stoke during this weekend's 12°F in the gusty local trails...

Here's FM showing his sweet (non-ICT:skep: ) Turner...

BTW, can you send me the full res of that nice shot you took of me at the entrance jump to the pumtrac ? thx -

Good to see you back on the dirt!

If I may go OT for a moment...what machine/grinder setup you rockin'? Beans?

We usually go for the quick n easy Vita Cafe del Sol beans, but I'll still pick up a bag of Vivace when down by REI. Our Miss Silvia is still ticking after 2.5 years...microfoam can be tricky with her, but totally doable.

My question is, would your injury have been prevented by using some clipless pedals???? :D
I think the unequivocal answer to that is............YES!!! Of course, he would've fell 6+ feet onto his head with bigger worries than a broken foot! ;) :D

FM, looking good brotha. Stoked you're back on the bike again and loving the pics of the snow rides.......so much fun out there right now. I think someone's gotta remind Barry to put his fork back up to 160mm or adjust his LSC! I mean, CI's steep, but not THAT steep!! :eekster:

Cheers,
EB

You sure a jealous East coaster didn't push him off that ladder?

Great news on the rehab front FM. You sure have been quiet about it, I'm glad you're back OTB but man it must have been tough being on the DL so long.

Great photo shots mang. Don't be so modest post em up @ 800 or 850 w/h
You did all that with a P&S? which one? I see not exif... sneaky bastid!

Since I'm snowed off the trails, I'll have to work on my espresso skils now... so how'd you make that crazy onion?

Good job, FM, we're all glad you're back. Great pics, too. Looks like you had some time to study your camera manual :D That's an A720, right? 'Zilla's correct, couldn't pull up any exif date from your later pics, what program are you using to do your post processing? Love that carousel photo.

Shots in the low-light forest canopy are always tough but yours captured the action nicely. Keep posting pics!

Barry's a fatass, he can't help it. No fork can stand up to his girth.
Nah, he's just got to go lighter on safety up at the pumptrack and remember to put his fork back up before the descent! :D
