I searched but could not find the answer. Will the Avid Elixir (5 or R) work with Shimano centerlock rotors? The problem I am having is they are hitting the brake pad "tabs" on my current manual brakes. I thought the Elixirs would work because they are "top loading" design
I know I can cut the tabs but I figured this would be a good time to upgrade... but want to make sure their wont be any problems.

Space the caliper away from the rotor. Or just use the Avid centerlock rotors.

If I space it out, then I wouldn't have any contact with the rotor and pad? I already have the centerlocks and dont want to buy new ones.

Not if you space it out only 1 mm or just enough to clear contact.
