Two friends of mine bought Bell Wireless Speedometers (a 20 buck bike computer) and are having the same problem: When they start riding everything works fine, but when they reach around 10 mph the computer turns off. We've tried almost everything, we even changed the batteries and it's the same.

Does anyone have a clue of what could be going wrong?

Is the wheel magnet close enough to the sensor? If it is not, then you may experience just the symptoms you have. Try to get it real close and see what happens.

well, it is as close at it can be installed. less than 3mm from the sensor.
everything is correclty setup according to the installation guide. it's hard to believe that this product will simply not work. as I said, my friends have two brand new units installed on two different bikes and both are having the same problem.
