Took my cross bike out between storms. Mud was so bad my wheels wouldn't turn and had to take 15 min. to scrape it all out with a random stick. At one point the stick broke.

That's dirty.

Nope, it's raining off and on today in the desert. Since we get so little rain, many of us celebrate by staying inside when it rains. Maybe it also helps protect our trails a little bit more from erosion.

three tell tale signs your bike needs a bath
1. people ask you were you got it painted
2. your bike is randomly 10 pounds heaver
3. there is a dust cloud behind your car on the way home

I love the assumption that because his bike is muddy, he is trashing his trails.

Psst: there are many places where the trail systems are quite tolerant of riding in the nasty.

Granted, I have no idea about the OP's trails, but you're still making some assumptions based on a photo.
