What is Barbie Camp?
It is a fun-filled weekend of riding, camping, eating, drinking and hanging out around the bonfire!

Fall Barbie Camp is held on Whychus Creek, across Three Creeks Lake Road from the Peterson Trail Network. (See below for directions) People will arrive Friday … or even as early as Thursday … and do their own thing. Saturday and Sunday there will be group rides on the Peterson Ridge network and/or some of the other Central Oregon trails. Saturday night will be a potluck dinner, a giant bonfire and refreshments provided by one of our awesome beer sponsors.

Fall Barbie Camp is October 15th-17th 2021.

We will be in a disbursed campsite with no picnic tables or drinking water … although DOD will arrange for a port-a-potty (Maybe). So bring a warm sleeping bag, a drinking mug, and your camp chair for hanging out around the fire, and get ready for a good time!

This year we are asking that everyone who attends be vaccinated.

Saturday Riders
: If you are just planning to come for the day to ride with the group, we'll be rolling out of camp at 10:00 am. Be sure to arrive with enough time to kit up and be ready to pedal.

Directions to Barbie Camp:
Go to googlemaps
Paste the following into the googlemaps search window: 44.246032, -121.548683
These coordinates show exactly where you turn off Three Creeks Lake Road to get into the Barbie campsite on Whychus Creek. Now all you have to do is this:
Print the map showing the coordinates above. Bring the printed map with you.
Drive to Sisters
In downtown Sisters, turn south onto S. Elm St.
Stay on S. Elm St. Drive about 3 miles and you'll come to the coordinates above (watch for a Barbie Camp sign along the road).
Turn right off Three Creeks Lake Rd. to get into the Barbie campsite.

Fall Barbie Camp is Coming
Bring your bikes and be ready for some great riding and terrible weather. Or at least the weather's been pretty questionable every time I've done it. It's going to be awesome.

Also, as mentioned previously. We respectfully ask that all attendees be vaccinated.

Whychus Creek Campground just south of Sisters.
FWIW it's not a campground. It's a dispersed campsite.

I'm waiting for DOD to add directions to the campsite to its website calendar link so that I can forward the calendar link to people who've never been there.

Site is updated with directions. 1 porta-pottie will be onsite. Check back on the DOD website as the event gets closer. Hope we get to run it. Covid needs to go away-NOW!

Just thought I should mention that the "Barbie Camp ROCKS" sign that used to mark that last right turn into the campsite got stolen a few years back. So DON'T watch for a Barbie Camp sign along the road because unless somebody makes a new sign and places it there which I doubt will happen, you'll be looking for a sign that doesn't exist. Instead, just be on watch for a right turn at about 3.2 miles south of Sisters.
In summary: note your mileage as you turn right off Hwy 20 onto S. Elm St. in downtown Sisters.
Continue 3.2ish miles on S. Elm St. The name will change from S. Elm St. to Three Creeks Rd when you leave Sisters city limits.
Three Creeks Rd has mileage markers. When you get to the 3 mile post, keep your eyes peeled.
At roughly 3.2 miles, turn right onto a gravel double track that leads into the Barbie campsite.

Actually... Jeff Green made a new Barbie Camp sign and it's likely to be there. But it got stolen once so your mileage is useful regardless.

Barbie Camp is this weekend -- October 15-17.
Cyn & I expect to arrive in camp Thursday afternoon. Weather forecast looks good with the exception of possible Sunday morning showers. Whatever -- it's gonna be awesome. See y'all there.
