are thule carriers compatible with yakima crossbars out of the box, or do i need to get a special adapter?


i got a cheap yakima base rack, but i want to use the thule 599xtr carriers

i was looking at rackattack.com and it says that the 599 are yakima compatible, but i dont know if i need to buy extra hardware

any help ?

Thule has a customer service number on their website,1-800-238-2388. I'm sure they would be able to help you. You might need you Yakima model number as well as the bike carrier you wish to purchase ready,as they might ask you for them.

I know the ski racks are not, well, at least mine aren't.
