I don't see why not. The manual says 100, but that's probably because the only spacer provided is the 30mm one. You would need to get a hold of a couple 20mm spacers and follow instructions from enduroforkseals.com concerning the 125mm Vanilla R and replace the 25mm spacer with 30mm one in the pictured configuraion.

And use really heavy spring compared to the 130mm setting.

Yeah, good point. About two steps heavier than what you have now. You might get away with a heavily preloaded one step heavier spring, but two will probably be better.
