Hi, have been in the market for a new rear rim for my trek marlin 5 (one with a freehub) and came across these ("on sale" for 100aud), https://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/stars-circle-bike-wheelset-shimano-8-9-10-speed/ZJS19SE

Not much of an expert so dont really know what to look for
Are these any good?
Will they fit on my bike?

These are basically disposable Chinese wheels. If/when they fail you will not be able to get any replacement parts for them. They are not an upgrade but simply a cheap wheelset for an inexpensive bike. If you truly think that your Marlin is going to be a bike that you want to upgrade and keep for a long time then you would be better off by saving your money and get a better wheelset.
As Zig Ziglar once said, "There is price and then there is value". You job is to determine which is more important to you.
The odds of someone on this forum with actual experience with this wheelset are slim to next to none. Most here are looking with the big picture in mind and will choose to get quality parts when they are purchasing parts for their bikes.
So while these will fit and allow you to run an 8-12 speed(nx or Sunrace 12 speed) just realize that if the freehub fails you will just have to throw them away and look for another wheelset.
