Hi my old crossmax rims where built as a tubeless set.

But if you get a set that come on a bike are they going to be tubeless?

yes
Dont know if this answers your question, but I got a pair of crossmax SLRs 2008 with my Kona hardtail.
They came equipped with tubes.
And i was surprised to learn the other day that specialized 2bliss tyres wont work with the mavic UST system without using rim tape! ( the LBS had to call them to find that out, as it was a bit of a mystery why the tyres wouldnt inflate)

I have run various Spec 2Bliss tires as tubeless with no real issues at all. I have a Mavic 819 rear and Crossmax ST front. They inflate with a floor pump. Some of them are a little temperamental putting them on and off a couple of times. But, in general, no problems.

My buddy has a set of SLRs and has no problems with Spec 2bliss either. In fact, that is all he runs.

If Spec tires just dont seal for you, Schwable makes some good UST tires. Geax has the TNT tire which is tubless ready. I like the Geax Barro mtn 2.3. It always seals nice and easy. The Schwable tires are the easiest to seal, but the hardest to put on. I also like the Conti Mtn King 2.4 ust. I have run that on the front and like it a lot.

Absolutely, positively, 100% false. You're lbs guys are simply useless schmucks.
What the heck would the rim tape be for? Sealing the spoke holes? The rims are sealed/welded. Too funny. This is why I hate so many lbs's. :RANT OFF

OP: FWIW Speshy 2Bliss tires are tires with a regular casing (sidewall) and a UST bead. They are specifically meant to be used on UST rims like Mavic 819's.
