Why does it matter what the pros are riding? The pros are riding whatever their sponsors have them ride.
That’s not true at all. The OP asked about wheel size... I’m willing to bet there isn’t a single sponsored rider that is riding a specific wheel size because the bike company told them to.

In reality, I think almost all enduro pros are on 29” bikes. There may be a couple mullet setups for specific tracks, and maybe a few shorter riders are on 27.5”.

Pretty sure the pros aren’t going against their sponsors.

Of course they're not going against their sponsors, but their sponsors are NOT telling them which wheel size, or which bike in their lineup to ride. For example, how many Ibis riders are on the HD5? How many Canyon riders are on the 27.5" Spectral? How many Pivot riders are on the Mach 6? The answer to all of those is zero, because enduro riders are almost all on 29" bikes.
