Okay, I'm betting the answer is not only no but hell no, but I thought I'd ask anyway. And why the hell can't someone build such a freeride park out here? Frickin' lawyers (with extra offense in this comment directed at BigDigger :D)

And to think I used to live in Glen Ellyn, IL, about 30 miles from Joliet for five years. I leave, and they install a freeride park.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, check out http://www.challengepark.com/northshore.asp

LMAO!

I will gladly rip up all my stunts and relocate ALL of them if you have the land! :D
I am one of the Sally guys who built (still building) all that crazy stuff.
If you want to see some [better] pictures, check out 'OUR' gallery of that stuff we're building out there...

So,
If you had the resources, and right people would you help? What is CORBA's position on man made technical trail features, or bike only trails built to enhance the experience for longer travel mountain bikes? Does a new group need to be formed?

IMBA has info on liability for all 50 states.

I have been invovled in some of the building for the following legally sanctioned trails in Falls City, OR

blackrockfreeride.org

also check out

www.norware.com/biking

I'm moving back down to the T.O. area and will need to make something happen similar to this area in concept. I have all the guidelines approved by The Oregon Department of Forestry. I can also seek guidance from those that made Falls City happen.

Anybody in that area that can get invovled pm me.

Q: So why'd you move back to Illinois from So Cal?
A: Mountain biking.

Seriously, everyone would think I was a compelte idjut. LOL.

I do miss the blizzard rides though :D

You Team Sally guys rock! I've watched the CPX stuff in Concrete Dirt Part 4 and the keyboard is overflowing with drool. Hats off to whoever it is that was riding the wheelie and couldn't make the jump, the one where his bike drops through the hole and he jumps off and runs down the landing after the bike seems to just vanish. Funniest crash I've ever seen.

BTW, did any of the sallies go to UIUC around between 95-97 and ride with the campus group of trials guys?

I'd actually be interested in helping if people were building a freeride park out here in so cal. Don't have the greatest woodworking skills but would love to learn them. Wouldn't be able to do much for a few weeks as it's "hell month" at work at the moment.

Thousand Oaks area? I'm in Valencia and have been interested in a Freeride Park in the area too. I think a main problem will be finding land around here. Most of it is private or $$$. I'd be interested in your thoughts.

We just had a dear friend move outa here to the Frisco area for...MOUNTAINBIKING.
He said had he known about CPX sooner, things may have turned out different and stayed put.
I guess [that] reason alone is why we pulled a group together and made some stuff happen.
Danno at ChicagoFreeride made that video and came down to CPX to film. I thought he did a GREAT JOB. We liked it. (if you wanna see it, go to www.chicagofreeride.com and download PART 4 of Concrete Dirt)
UIUC- Nope.
Good Luck with your venture out there.
