Im getting my mate to build my wheel(at last)but hes saying the DT Swiss competion Double butted spokes will flex a little and are for xc,he said they will be ok but are ment to be able to bend and on a vertualy bomb proof rim its not good,he also said he only use's plain gauge spokes.

Rim and hub are:Mavic EX729 & Da Bomb headpsin hub

Will these be ok and does anyone else use then or know any info?,

Thanks

Man, you'll be fine. We all run DT Revolution spokes which are lighter yet and they hold up no prob.

Competitions will be fine. They are a great way to save a few grams with no strength penalty. You won't be able to feel any difference in stiffness...
