I am looking for a new 4x bike that I can ride singletrack on, not expecting it to climb like an xc bike, and I know the geo is great for it but I can only afford one bike and I want to be able to ride 4x but not be completely limited to that.

It'll work...just as well as any other hardtail would work for descending. My buddy is an incredible rider and his dh bike was out of commission one day last summer and he used his bank the whole day at a resort and kept up with us fine...so it'll work but probably not the most comfortable bike ever. If you have a tad bit more money, i'd probably look at doubles. They're better on trails and can still rail 4x/dj/ss like mad.
