Found his youtube videos now as 5x Unbound Fat Bike winner. Guy is a beast on a bike and pretty amusing character that marches to his own drum.

I see he rides a Salsa Beargrease w/a Lauf fork recently.

Anyone else inspired by Roy and doing gravel riding/racing?

(I'm old and broken and not concerned about having the fastest rig)

Mike, I believe Roy lives around Clare so lots of sandy two tracks around for him to ride, fat tires are perfect for that, plus I think he just enjoys being on the fat bike. I know I do.
Wasn't trying to force my opinion onto him, or to you. Just answering the OP's question.

I am.

Knowing how difficult it is to get older and continue to enjoy competition and remain competitive, I am inspired immensely. The fact he also makes people question the "fact" that fat bikes are slow also inspires me.

For some of the gravel races he does...a fat bike is an advantage, or a draw, because or the sandy and rough backroads in MI.
